Explosion-Proof Light
An explosion-proof light is a luminaire certified for classified hazardous areas — refineries, chemical plants, mines, grain handling — where flammable gases, vapors, or dusts may be present. Protection is engineered, not implied: flameproof (Ex d) enclosures contain any internal ignition, increased-safety (Ex e) construction prevents ignition sources, and the certificate binds the fixture to specific zones, gas groups (IIA/IIB/IIC), and temperature classes (T1–T6). Certification is issued against IEC 60079 or aligned national series such as GB/T 3836-2021, with a verifiable certificate number. No IP rating, ruggedness, or marketing language substitutes for that certificate — installation in a classified zone without one is a safety and legal violation.
