Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
This policy explains how www.sunjoylight.com uses cookies and similar technologies. The short version: we use essential cookies only — no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking. We also use one item of browser session storage to remember how you reached us, so that an enquiry you send arrives with useful context; it is described in section 3 and is cleared when you close the tab.
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They can be "essential" (required for the site to function securely) or "non-essential" (analytics, advertising, personalization).
2. Cookies We Use
The Website is a static site served through Cloudflare. The only cookies you may encounter are essential security and performance cookies set by Cloudflare, such as:
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare | Bot detection and mitigation — distinguishes humans from automated abuse | Essential · ~30 min |
| _cfuvid | Cloudflare | Rate-limiting and connection integrity on shared networks | Essential · session |
These are set by our infrastructure provider to keep the Website secure and available. They do not profile you across other websites.
3. Enquiry Context (Session Storage, Not a Cookie)
So that we can answer an enquiry usefully, your browser temporarily remembers how you arrived at the Website and which of our pages you looked at. This is stored in your browser's session storage under the key sjl_attr — not in a cookie.
- What it holds: the page you first arrived on, the pages of this Website you viewed, the website or search engine that referred you (domain only), and any campaign tags in the link you followed.
- What it does not hold: your name, email, IP address, or anything that identifies you personally — and nothing about your activity on other websites.
- When it leaves your browser: only if you choose to submit the enquiry form, in which case it is attached to that enquiry so our sales team can see what you were looking at. If you never submit the form, it never reaches us.
- How long it lasts: until you close the browser tab. It is not written to disk and does not persist between visits.
- How to prevent it: disabling JavaScript or using a private window stops it entirely. The Website and the enquiry form both work normally without it.
4. What We Do NOT Use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies;
- No social-media tracking pixels;
- No cross-site or cross-session tracking of any kind;
- No analytics cookies at present. If we add privacy-respecting analytics in the future, this policy will be updated first and consent will be requested where legally required.
5. Third-Party Buttons and Links
Links on the Website (e.g., WhatsApp chat, social media profiles) take you to third-party services that apply their own cookies and policies once you are on their sites. No third-party tracking runs on our pages from these links.
6. Managing Cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings (typically under Privacy or Site Settings). Blocking the essential cookies listed above may affect the Website's protection systems but the content remains accessible. Session storage described in section 3 is cleared when you close the tab, and can be cleared at any time through the same browser settings.
