Which fixtures survive ammonia in poultry and livestock houses?

They resist the ammonia and humidity of livestock houses and take routine wash-down, where open or unsealed fittings corrode and fail within a production cycle. Dimmable versions support staged lighting programmes.

Are the fixtures suitable for wash-down and humid greenhouses?

What should poultry-house lighting do across the production cycle?

Poultry programmes vary light level through the cycle, so the practical requirements are smooth, deep dimming (ideally down to a few percent without stepping), flicker-free output, and a sealed body that survives ammonia and wash-down between flocks. Do grain stores count as explosive dust areas?

They can. Grain and feed dust is combustible, and areas around conveyors, elevators and filling points may be classified Zone 20, 21 or 22 under a dust study - inside silos usually most severe. Where a zone is declared, the lighting needs an appropriate dust-rated Ex marking; outside classified areas, sealed IP65 fixtures that keep dust off hot surfaces are the right choice. The site's dust study, not habit, decides which applies where.
