Tri-Proof Light

A tri-proof (vapor-tight) light is a sealed linear luminaire protected against the three enemies of ordinary fittings — water, dust, and corrosion. Construction is a gasketed polycarbonate or ABS+PC housing with stainless clips, rated IP65 or better, often with impact-resistant IK ratings. It is the default fixture for car parks, tunnels, food processing, cold storage, washdown zones, agricultural buildings, and coastal sites, mounted surface, suspended, or in continuous rows. Distinguish sealing from chemistry: for corrosive environments verify housing material compatibility (ammonia in livestock housing degrades some plastics), and for genuinely explosive atmospheres a tri-proof is never a substitute for certified explosion-proof equipment.
