SASO / SABER Certification (SASO)

SASO is the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, and clearing customs into Saudi Arabia requires product and shipment certificates issued through its SABER online platform. For lighting, that means a Product Certificate of Conformity against the applicable Saudi technical regulations (covering safety, EMC and energy-efficiency requirements) issued by an approved certification body, plus a per-consignment Shipment Certificate before each container sails. The Gulf region layers related schemes — the GCC-wide G-Mark applies to some product categories, and other Gulf states run their own conformity programs — so the paperwork stack depends on the exact product and destination. Practically, the exporter and importer share the work: correct HS codes, test reports from accredited labs and SABER registration timed ahead of shipment.
