Solar Flood Light
A solar flood light pairs a directional LED flood head with its own panel and battery, delivering aimed area light where mains power is absent or trenching is uneconomic: signage and flags, building façades, yard corners, rural courts and temporary compounds. Most are split designs — the head aims at the target while the panel, on its own bracket and a few metres of cable, faces the sun — because the two ideal orientations rarely agree. The honest sizing conversation is about energy, not peak lumens: a flood that must burn at full output all night demands a panel and battery sized to the site’s worst-month sun, while dusk-hours-only or motion-boosted duty cycles shrink the hardware dramatically. Treat “equivalent wattage” marketing with suspicion and compare delivered lumens, battery watt-hours and the runtime profile — the three numbers that decide whether it still performs in January.
