Vapor Tight Light

Vapor tight light is the North American name for what European catalogues call a tri-proof light: a fully gasketed linear LED fixture whose sealed housing keeps out moisture, dust and wash-down water — IP65 or better, usually paired with an impact-rated polycarbonate diffuser. The form factor is the familiar 2 ft to 8 ft batten mounted to ceilings or suspended in car parks, cold rooms, food plants, tunnels, plant rooms and stairwells, anywhere condensation or hosing would kill an open fixture. US specifications tend to add their own vocabulary around it — wet location listing, NSF splash-zone suitability for food areas, IK impact class for parking structures — but the engineering underneath is the same sealed-batten discipline. If a tender says vapor tight, quote the tri-proof range; the difference is dialect, not design.
