100W is the workhorse wattage of hazardous-area lighting: strong enough to light process areas, pump galleries and loading racks from standard mounting heights, compact enough for the flameproof construction to remain manageable in weight and cost. In a classified zone, however, wattage is the last thing checked — certification comes first, and every fixture on this page belongs to the SJFB series certified to GB/T 3836-2021 (certificate ZJEx25.1185) for Ex d / Ex de protection, IIC gas groups, and Zone 1 & 2 duty.

Twelve SJFB housings carry a 100W variant, spanning round high-bay style, rectangular flood style, and low-profile formats — so one certified platform covers a process unit's mix of mounting positions. The certificate and type-test report are supplied with the quotation, before any deposit.

— Selection Guide

Where 100W Fits

Guidance for classified areas — the site's hazardous-area study, not habit, decides the final selection.

Zone matching

SJFB fixtures at EPL Gb serve Zone 1 and Zone 2. Match the marking's gas group and temperature class to your site study — IIC covers IIA and IIB areas.

Mounting height

100W covers walkways, platforms and process areas from 4–8 m; step to 150–250W for taller structures and tank-farm masts.

Typical applications

Process units, pump and pipe galleries, solvent stores, loading racks, gas plants, paint shops, underground workings with gas risk.

Format choice

Round bodies suit pendant and hook mounting over process floors; rectangular flood styles aim from structures; low-profile formats fit under platforms and in tight galleries.

Where This Class Works

Three duties this wattage is specified for most often — and what changes in the specification for each.

01

Process units and reactor areas

In a classified zone the marking is checked before the wattage. Every fixture here belongs to the SJFB series certified to GB/T 3836-2021 (ZJEx25.1185) for Ex d / Ex de, IIC gas groups and Zone 1 & 2 — with the certificate and type-test report supplied before any deposit.

02

Pump galleries and pipe racks

Around pumps, flanges and sample points the release risk is highest and access is tightest. Low-profile and rectangular formats fit under platforms and along racks where a round pendant body simply will not go.

Underground workings and gas-risk areas

Where methane or other flammable gas can be present, only certified equipment is permitted — and the marking must match the site classification study rather than a supplier's default. IIC-certified equipment covers IIA and IIB areas as well.

— Buyer Protection

Straight Answers to the Questions Buyers Ask in Forums

What buyers report in sourcing forums and marketplace reviews — and how to check any supplier, including us.

Verify the certificate — including ours

Sourcing forums are right: Ex certificates get faked, and a certificate page proves little. Check the certificate number against the issuing body's records, and confirm the model list and factory legal name match exactly. We invite exactly that check on ZJEx25.1185 (Changzhou Shuangjia Electrical Appliance Co., Ltd.) — and we send the full type-test report, not just the cover page, before any deposit.

The marking must match your site study, not the listing

“Explosion proof” in a marketplace title means nothing; the marking string does. Read the protection concept, gas group, temperature class and EPL against your hazardous-area classification drawing — our Ex marking guide decodes every element in plain language.

A light flameproof fixture is a contradiction

Ex d containment demands castings that withstand internal explosion pressure and machined flame paths held to tight tolerances. Weight and machining are the visible evidence — a suspiciously light, cheap “Ex d” fixture deserves suspicion about what else was skipped.

One certificate does not cover every size

A genuine certificate may apply to specific enclosure sizes and configurations only. When ordering across wattages, confirm each model appears on the certificate's model list — ours spans the SJFB series 20–400W, and the list ships with the quotation.

— Buyer Questions

100W Explosion Proof LED Light — Answered

Are these fixtures certified for Zone 1?

Yes. The SJFB series is type-tested and certified to GB/T 3836-2021 (certificate ZJEx25.1185) at Ex d / Ex de protection with EPL Gb — permitted in Zone 1 and Zone 2 for IIC (and therefore IIA/IIB) gas atmospheres. The certificate and test report are supplied with the quotation for your acceptance review.

Is GB/T 3836 equivalent to ATEX or IECEx?

GB/T 3836 is technically aligned part-for-part with IEC 60079, the same engineering basis as ATEX and IECEx. Formal acceptance depends on jurisdiction: many projects across the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America accept GB/T 3836 documentation after an equivalence review, while EU workplaces legally require ATEX. Where a project needs regional marks, we coordinate accredited-lab certification as part of the OEM scope.

What does the Ex marking on these lights mean?

A marking like Ex db IIC T4 Gb reads: flameproof enclosure (db), certified for the most severe gas group (IIC), maximum surface temperature 135 °C (T4), equipment protection level Gb (Zone 1/2). Our Ex marking guide decodes every element in plain language.

Which 100W format should I choose for a process unit?

Round pendant bodies (SJFB801/805/806) over open process floors; the flood-style SJFB808 where light must aim from structure onto equipment; low-profile SJFB819 under platforms and in galleries. Share the unit layout and classification drawing and we return a fixture schedule with the DIALux study.

Can these fixtures work in high-temperature or high-ambient areas?

Two different figures are involved and buyers often confuse them. The temperature class (e.g. T5 = 100 °C, T6 = 85 °C) is the fixture’s maximum surface temperature, checked against the gas’s auto-ignition temperature — the SJFB series reaches T5–T6 depending on model. The ambient rating (Ta) is the surrounding air temperature the fixture is qualified to run in. Sites that specify "rated to 90 °C / 194 °F" are usually asking about one of these two — tell us which, plus the actual worst-case temperature at the fixture position, and we confirm the exact T-class and Ta for the specific model rather than quoting a generic figure.
