The 200W high bay is the standard fixture of real warehousing — the class specified for 8–12 m ceilings where distribution centres rack, pick and load. At this height the beam angle does the work: a medium 90° beam covers open floor, while narrower optics push light down between racking so the aisle floor, not the rack tops, receives the lumens.

Seven SJGK housings carry a 200W variant — the broadest choice in the range — from the ultra-slim SJGK912 UFO to the air-convection SJGK909 tower. All are IP65-sealed with dimmable driver options for zoned warehouse control.

Mounting height

Rack tops steal your lumens

The classic warehouse mistake in every lighting thread: an even grid over racking, with a third of the light landing on rack tops. Fixtures belong over the aisles with narrow optics — the difference is 30%+ of usable light at identical wattage. We lay the grid out free from your rack pitch.

The 400W-MH swap: honest, if the fixture is

200W LED replacing 400W metal halide is the standard, genuine swap — when the LED's output is real. Ask for the IES file and measured data, not the listing figure; run both through the calculation before ordering hundreds of units.

Check the Ta rating against your summer roof void

What ceiling height suits a 200W UFO high bay?

8–12 m. This is the standard class for general and high-rack warehousing: enough output to hold 150–200 lux at floor level from 10 m with the right beam, without the glare of over-driving lower ceilings. Above 12 m, move to 300W+ or high-power bodies.

How do I light warehouse racking aisles with 200W high bays?

Run fixture lines along the aisle centreline with narrow (≈60°) optics, spaced at roughly 1.2–1.5 × mounting height along the aisle. This puts light on the pick faces and floor rather than the rack tops. We lay this out free in DIALux from your rack pitch and aisle width.

What does a 200W LED high bay replace?

The classic swap is a 400W metal halide high bay — at roughly half the connected load with better floor lux, instant-on and no group relamping. Validate with the IES file rather than wattage equivalence alone.
